Nutrient figures are the nominal analysis of each grade. The analysis that applies to your cargo is declared on the COA and TDS issued for the production lot shipped.
Four groups, because they are bought four different ways
A blender buying 5,000 tonnes of granular MAP in a vessel does not buy the way a grower buys two pallets of soluble MKP. The range is split along the lines the trade actually uses, and each product page states whether it is a bulk commodity, a soluble input or reference material.
Bulk Phosphate Fertilizers
Granular and powdered phosphate fertilizers sold by the container or the vessel lot: MAP, DAP, TSP and SSP. These are the products that move in tenders and in distributor programmes.
4 products quoted →Water-Soluble Phosphate Fertilizers
Fully soluble phosphate sources for fertigation, foliar programmes and soluble NPK manufacturing: water-soluble MAP 12-61-0, MKP 0-52-34, urea phosphate and ammonium polyphosphate.
3 products quoted →Phosphate Chemicals & Raw Materials
Phosphoric acid and the calcium phosphates used in feed and food applications. Technical, feed and food grades are separate products with separate documentation and are never substituted for one another.
Reference information →Related Fertilizers
NP and NPK compounds built on a phosphate base. Described here so a buyer can see how our phosphate products fit into a finished blend; quoted per formulation.
Reference information →The four products that carry the trade
Granular phosphate sold by the container or the vessel lot. Each page gives the nominal analysis, the grades that actually move out of Chinese ports, the applications and the specification points that cause disputes when they are left vague.
MAP
Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP)
MAP 11-52-0 granular from China — a high-analysis phosphate fertilizer supplying ammoniacal nitrogen and fully available phosphorus for basal application and blend manufacturing.
Specification & quote → 18-46-0DAP
Diammonium Phosphate (DAP)
DAP 18-46-0 granular from China — the world's most traded phosphate fertilizer, supplying 18% ammoniacal nitrogen and 46% available P2O5 for direct application and blending.
Specification & quote → 0-46-0TSP
Triple Superphosphate (TSP)
TSP 0-46-0 from China — a nitrogen-free concentrated phosphate fertilizer, granulated or powdered, for direct application, blending and phosphate-deficient soils.
Specification & quote → 0-16-0 to 0-20-0SSP

Reference information →A supply desk, described honestly
We are not a mine and we are not a granulation plant. We are the desk that buys from Chinese producers, matches the analysis to your specification, handles the documents and gets the cargo on the water. That is a narrower claim than most phosphate websites make, and it is the one we can support.
The grade is matched to your test method
The most common dispute in phosphate trade is a P2O5 figure quoted on a different basis from the one the buyer tests against — total against available, citrate-soluble against water-soluble. We state the basis and the method on the quotation, so acceptance criteria do not have to be argued after the cargo has sailed.
Documents before the contract, not after
COA, TDS, MSDS, packing list, invoice, certificate of origin, and the phytosanitary or destination-specific declarations where they apply. What a shipment will carry is confirmed at quotation stage rather than discovered at the port.
Trading and export experience, not a phosphate brochure
Our team has shipped fertilizer out of China for years across urea, ammonium sulfate and compound products. Phosphate is a separate market with its own grades and its own quality arguments, and this site is written for that market rather than adapted from a nitrogen one.
One contact, and answers within a business day
The enquiry goes to a named person, not a shared inbox that nobody owns. If a grade is not available on the schedule you need, you are told that rather than being held in a negotiation that will not close.
Where the product is actually used
The same phosphate goes to a blend plant, a fertigation system and an industrial process for different reasons. Those differences decide the grade, the form and the specification.

What actually drives phosphate fertilizer prices
Phosphate prices are set by input costs and by policy, in that order. Demand matters less than most buyers assume, and freight matters more.
ChinaChina's phosphate industry: large capacity, constrained exports, imported rock
China is the largest phosphate processor and one of the most restricted exporters. Both facts are permanent features of the market, not temporary conditions.
Market structureThe global phosphate fertilizer market: how it is actually structured
Phosphate is not one market. It is a chain from rock to acid to granule, and a buyer's exposure depends on which link they are buying. This is the structure, without the price calls.
The decisions that decide whether a cargo is right
Written for the person who has to sign the purchase order, not for a search engine. Each guide ends with the specification points to write into the contract.
MAP or DAP: how to choose between them
The two most common phosphate fertilizers are close on analysis and quite different in the warehouse. Five criteria decide it, and price is the least reliable of them.
8 min read →MAP or TSP: the choice that is really about nitrogen
Both deliver about 46–52% phosphate. One brings nitrogen with it and one does not, and that is the whole decision.
7 min read →Granular or powder: the form decides how the product behaves
The same analysis in two forms is two different products. One blends, one does not, and the price difference is not the reason to choose.
6 min read →How to read a fertilizer grade — and what the label does not tell you
Three numbers, one convention, and a set of assumptions that are never printed. Reading a grade properly is the first skill in buying fertilizer.
7 min read →From the bag to the hold
Packaging is where a phosphate quotation is most often made incomparable: two offers at the same price per tonne can differ by the bag, the liner and the loaded quantity per container.
Packaging options
- 25 kg and 50 kg PP woven bags with a PE liner — the standard for distributor and retail markets.
- 1000 kg and 1250 kg jumbo bags (FIBC) — the usual choice for blend plants and for ports where bag handling is expensive.
- Bulk in vessel — for full cargoes where the receiver has silo capacity.
What the quotation states
The bag type, the bag weight, whether a liner is included, the marks, and the quantity loaded per container or per hold. Loading quantity depends on packaging, container type and the destination country's weight limit, and it is confirmed per order rather than quoted as a fixed number here.
Trade terms and payment
We quote FOB from the Chinese loading port, or CFR / CIF through to your discharge port. Tell us the basis you work on and the quotation is issued on it. Payment can be arranged by t/t or l/c; the terms are agreed per order.
Documents issued with a shipment
- Certificate of analysis for the production lot
- Technical data sheet
- Material safety data sheet
- Packing list and commercial invoice
- Certificate of origin
- Phytosanitary certificate, where required
- Destination-specific declarations, where required
Additional certification is reviewed per order before contract, not promised after it.
Who is behind China Phosphates
China Phosphates is the phosphate supply desk of SINO STARCO CHEMICAL and QINGDAO UNITED CHEMICAL — a Chinese fertilizer trading and export team working out of Qingdao. We buy from producers, match the analysis to the buyer's specification, handle the export documentation and arrange the ocean leg.
We do not own a phosphate mine or a granulation plant, and nothing on this site claims that we do. What we bring is sourcing across Chinese producers, the ability to specify and verify a grade, and the export paperwork that decides whether a cargo is released or sits at the port.
The team trades urea, ammonium sulfate and compound fertilizers alongside phosphates. That matters for a phosphate buyer in one specific way: we are used to arguing about analyses, test methods and loading quantities, because those arguments are the same in every fertilizer market.
Questions buyers ask before the first order
What phosphate fertilizers do you supply from China?
Granular MAP (11-52-0, and the Chinese grades 10-50-0 and 11-44-0), DAP 18-46-0, TSP 0-46-0 and SSP, together with water-soluble MAP 12-61-0, MKP 0-52-34 and urea phosphate 17-44-0. Phosphoric acid and the feed phosphates are described on the site for reference and are not currently offered. Availability of any specific grade is confirmed per order against the production schedule.
What does a grade like 11-52-0 or 18-46-0 actually mean?
The three numbers are the percentage of nitrogen (N), available phosphate (P2O5) and potassium (K2O) in that order. So 11-52-0 is 11% nitrogen, 52% phosphate and no potassium, and 18-46-0 is 18% nitrogen, 46% phosphate and no potassium. A zero in the third position means the product supplies no potash at all, which matters when you are balancing a blend.
Can you quote CFR or CIF, or only FOB?
All three. We quote FOB from the Chinese loading port, or CFR and CIF through to your discharge port. Tell us the basis you work on and the quotation is issued on that basis so it can be compared directly with the offers already on your desk.
What documentation comes with a shipment?
Every shipment carries a certificate of analysis for the production lot, a technical data sheet, an MSDS, the packing list and commercial invoice, and a certificate of origin. Phytosanitary certification and any destination-specific declaration are added where the importing country requires them, and are confirmed before the contract rather than assumed.
How much fits in a container, and what packaging is available?
Packaging is 25 kg or 50 kg PP woven bags with a PE liner, 1000 kg or 1250 kg jumbo bags, or bulk in vessel for full cargoes. The loaded quantity per container depends on the packaging, the container type and the weight limit of the destination country, and it is confirmed per order rather than quoted as a fixed figure.
Do you own a phosphate plant?
No. We are a trading and export desk: we buy from Chinese producers, consolidate and blend where a specification requires it, handle the documentation and ship. We do not present ourselves as a mine or a granulation plant, and the site says so on every page that touches on supply.
Request a phosphate quotation
Give us the product, the grade, the quantity and the discharge port. The reply carries the specification basis, the packaging, the shipping basis and a price for your market.
Not sure which grade fits your programme?
Send the crop, the soil or the existing blend analysis and we will tell you which phosphate it should be — including when the answer is that you do not need to change what you are buying.
