Monocalcium Phosphate (MCP)
Monocalcium phosphate, feed grade — a highly available phosphorus supplement for animal feed at about 22.7% phosphorus, used where a concentrated and acid-soluble source is required.
Feed grade, 22.7% P Ca(H2PO4)2 · H2O CAS 7758-23-8 White to off-white powder or granule
Industry information — not currently offered
Monocalcium phosphate is the higher-analysis feed phosphate: about 22.7% phosphorus against 18% for DCP, with a lower calcium content and a more acidic reaction. It is chosen where the phosphorus has to be both concentrated and readily available to the animal.
In poultry and swine diets MCP is often preferred over DCP on phosphorus availability per unit, and in aquafeed it is used because the phosphate dissolves readily in the water and is taken up efficiently. The trade-off is cost per tonne and a more aggressive reaction in the premix.
As with DCP, feed grade is a distinct product from the fertilizer and food grades of the same chemical name, and is documented separately.
Specification
The table below gives the nominal analysis and the parameters that a buyer should write into the contract. Values that depend on the production lot are not printed as numbers here, because a number on a website is not a guarantee — the lot COA is.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Phosphorus (P) | 22.7% min |
| Calcium (Ca) | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Fluorine (F) | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Arsenic (As) | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Lead (Pb) | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Moisture | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Particle size / mesh | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
Typical values describe the grade as it is normally traded. The guaranteed analysis for your order is the one stated on the certificate of analysis issued for the production lot, and it is confirmed in the sales contract before shipment.

Applications
- Poultry and swine feed, as a concentrated phosphorus source
- Aquafeed
- Mineral premix manufacture
Why this product, and not the one next to it
More phosphorus per tonne
At about 22.7% P, MCP delivers more nutrient per tonne of premix than DCP, which matters where storage or inclusion rate is constrained.
High availability
The acid-soluble phosphate is readily available to the animal, which is why it is specified in poultry and aquafeed formulations.
Packaging options
- 25 kg PP woven bags with PE liner
- 1000 kg jumbo bags (FIBC)
Loading quantity depends on packaging, container type and the weight limit of the destination country. It is confirmed per order. The bag type, bag weight, liner and marks are stated on the quotation so that two offers can be compared on the same basis.
Quality documentation
- Certificate of analysis for the production lot
- Feed-grade compliance declaration
- Material safety data sheet
- Certificate of origin
Documents are issued on a per-shipment basis. Certification availability is confirmed for each order before contract.
Export considerations
As with DCP, the feed-grade compliance documentation governs acceptance, not the chemical name on the bag.

Questions buyers ask about MCP
MCP or DCP for feed?
MCP carries more phosphorus per tonne and is more readily available; DCP is cheaper per unit of phosphorus and carries more calcium. The choice is made by the nutritionist against the rest of the diet, not by price alone.
Do you supply MCP?
Not at present. The page is reference material for buyers who are looking at feed phosphates alongside fertilizer phosphates.
